Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Distribution Engineer with 5 to 10 years of industry experience to join our team. This role is critical to the planning, design, and management of utility distribution systems such as electrical power, water, natural gas, or telecommunications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical design, regulatory compliance, and project execution, with a focus on delivering safe, efficient, and reliable infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Design: Develop and plan distribution systems (electrical, gas, water, telecom) to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Network Optimization: Analyze and enhance distribution networks for improved efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Project Management: Lead distribution projects from concept through completion, managing scope, budget, timeline, and resources.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and implementations comply with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Technical Analysis: Perform load flow studies, fault analysis, voltage drop assessments, and other critical calculations.
• System Upgrades: Identify and implement system improvements and proactively plan maintenance to minimize service disruptions.
• Quality Assurance: Review and validate design plans, engineering documentation, and field installations to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate technical records, schematics, and project files.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety throughout project lifecycles.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, project managers, and clients to align on goals and deliverables.
• Customer Support: Provide technical expertise and respond to customer inquiries and concerns regarding distribution systems.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize tools such as JETS (construction prints), Socket (load calculations), and OFS for design and analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in utility distribution system design and operations.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (may be required based on location).
• Strong knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
• Proficiency in relevant design and modeling software tools.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
