InnoWave is a software and hardware design services company, primarily for vision applications, specialize in Image quality tuning / ISP tuning, computer vision and customized camera modules, partnering with leading global semiconductor vendors such as NVIDIA, ARM, MediaTek, NXP, and others.
Role Description
We are seeking an experienced embedded software engineer with a strong background in camera sensor driver development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for integrating image sensors into embedded platforms, writing and debugging low-level drivers (I2C, V4L2), and collaborating with hardware and ISP tuning teams to deliver robust imaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain image sensor drivers (e.g., using V4L2 framework on Linux).
- Integrate image sensors with embedded platforms such as Qualcomm, NXP, NVIDIA Jetson, and others.
- Implement and debug I2C communication with image sensors.
- Work closely with ISP, computer vision, and hardware teams to ensure reliable sensor bring-up and image streaming.
- Optimize sensor configurations for resolution, frame rate, exposure, and HDR modes.
- Participate in board bring-up and embedded software development for custom hardware platforms.
- Support tuning and testing of image pipelines in conjunction with ISP experts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Proven experience working with camera/image sensors and writing drivers for V4L2, I2C, or MIPI CSI-2 interfaces.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded Linux.
- Experience with tools like dmesg, i2cdetect, v4l2-ctl, and media controller frameworks.
- Familiarity with Device Tree configurations and Linux kernel driver development.
- Comfortable debugging hardware/software issues with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or serial consoles.
Qualifications
- Experience with Qualcomm, NVIDIA Jetson, NXP i.MX, Renesas, etc. SoC platforms.
- Understanding of ISP pipelines and concepts like auto-exposure, auto-white balance, HDR, etc.
- Exposure to Yocto, U-Boot, or real-time operating systems.
- Experience working in startup or fast-paced environments.
