Fabrication Operations Manager/Director - (ASME) Pipe Fabrication, Pressure Vessels, and Modular Skids - DFW Area

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Fabrication Shop Manager to lead our ASME-certified operations and drive business growth through effective sales and client relationship management. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of ASME codes, fabrication processes for pipe, pressure vessels, and skids, and a proven track record in both operational management and technical sales. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient, safe, and quality production of our products while actively expanding our market presence and securing new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

I. Fabrication Management & Operations:

• Operational Leadership: Oversee all day-to-day operations of the fabrication shop, ensuring efficient workflow, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to production schedules.
• ASME Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all applicable ASME codes (e.g., ASME Section VIII Div. 1, B31.1, B31.3), national, and international standards for design, material procurement, fabrication, welding, inspection, and testing of pipe spools, pressure vessels, and skids.
• Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Develop, implement, and enforce robust QA/QC procedures. Work closely with QC personnel to maintain the highest quality standards, minimize rework, and resolve non-conformances. Act as a primary point of contact for client inspections and third-party audits.
• Safety Management: Champion a strong safety culture. Implement and monitor comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of skilled fabricators, welders, fitters, and support staff. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Oversee training, performance reviews, and workforce planning.
• Production Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to develop detailed production plans, allocate resources effectively, and meet project deadlines.

II. Sales & Business Development:

• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and identifying opportunities for repeat business.
• New Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities. Develop and execute strategies to expand our client base within target industries.
• Estimating & Proposal Development: Work with engineering and estimating teams to prepare accurate and competitive bids, proposals, and contracts for pipe fabrication, pressure vessel, and skid projects. Present proposals to clients and negotiate terms.
