Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Appointment Scheduling:
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring provider availability and clinic protocols are followed.
  • Insurance Verification:
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to appointments. Obtain necessary authorizations or pre-certifications when required.
  • Co-pay Collection & Payment Processing:
  • Accurately collect co-pays and outstanding balances at check-in/check-out. Post payments and issue receipts per clinic guidelines.
  • Referral Coordination:
  • Process, track, and follow up on outgoing referrals to specialists or diagnostic services, ensuring proper documentation and patient communication.
  • Patient Intake & Check-In/Out:
  • Greet patients, confirm demographic information, provide forms, and update EHR systems. Ensure smooth check-out with appropriate documentation and next steps.
  • Record Management:
  • Scan and upload patient documents, maintain confidentiality, and ensure accuracy in all medical records and insurance documentation.
  • Communication & Team Support:
  • Answer multi-line phones, respond to patient inquiries, and collaborate with clinical staff to support optimal patient care.
